Intramural and Club Sports: What is the Difference?
Intramural sports are competitions played between teams or individuals that are formed from the university community. Teams play each other for a period of time, followed by a single-elimination tournament. Weekend or single-day intramural tournaments may also be offered. All skill levels are welcome.
Clubs are formed by students and often compete with sports clubs from other colleges and universities. Club sports normally have tryouts, dedicated practice times, and seasons that are usually much longer than Intramural Sports.
Intramural sports teams compete within the university while Club Sports may travel and compete with teams from peer institutions.
