Small Group Training

Small Group Training is a unique fitness offering from Campus Recreation.

Join certified personal trainers or fitness coaches in a 10-12 week program designed to challenge, and gradually advance a specific fitness skill or goal. Small group training combines the social aspect of group fitness, with the accountability and progression of personal training. 

Enjoy more personalized instruction, with a group that is more intimate, and goal-oriented. This is a great option for those that are looking for an effective, high quality workout that is focused on skill development, motivation and enhanced fitness at a very affordable cost.

  3. Progression - Participants should see noticable progression by the end of the 10-12 week program. 
  4. Register for a pre-designed offering, or create your own small group with friends or co-workers. 

Create Your Own Small Group

Can't make it to one of our regularly scheduled small group fitness sessions? Have a small group that would like to workout together? Complete the interest form and we'll do our best to create a personalized class at a time that is convenient for you and your small group. We only need a minimum of four people (8 max) to customize your personal small group fitness training. Once a group of 4-8 participants have requested, scheduled, and paid for a private a la carte Small Group Training class, there will be no changes or refunds.

What We Do

Small Group Training offers a unique opportunity to explore an emerging dimension of fitness by combining Personal Training with Group Fitness. This is a great option for those that are looking for an effective, high quality workout that is focused on skill development, motivation, and enhanced fitness. 

Small Group Training focuses on specialized instruction using specific equipment in a goal-oriented exercise program. 

Participants are NOT required to complete a Comprehensive Fitness Appraisal to participate, however, will be required to fill out pre-participation forms. Expect at least 4 to 8 participants per session.

Fitness Levels

It is recommended that individuals who are brand new to exercise, or who struggle with the most basic exercises, like squats, lunges and/or push-ups, work with a personal trainer one-on-one for at least 3 sessions to work on basic form and technique before starting a small group training program. Personal training provides the one-on-one attention you may need to build a foundation to perform basic exercises safely. Ultimately, your health and safety is our number one priority and we want to recommend the appropriate training program for you.

Our small group fitness coaches work hard to accommodate varying levels of fitness, however, small group classes are not appropriate for individuals who have injuries which require rehabilitation and should be supervised by a Physician and/or licensed physical therapist. Our trainers are not physical therapists and this is not a medically-supervised fitness facility.
