General Information

  • Parking: Auburn University Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum lot (651 Heisman Drive) – adjacent to the Recreation and Wellness Center. Look for posted signs indicating appropriate lots. 
  • Registration: Friday 2-7 p.m. on Lower Level (AU Room) – presenters can test PowerPoints in this room during registrationSaturday 7-7:45 a.m. on Lower Level (MAC Gym)
  • Name Badge: Required at ALL times. You must wear your badge to get into the facility, throughout the facility to get into sessions, and to the social Saturday night. If you do not have your badge, please go to Command Central for assistance.
  • Command Central: The central hub for information about open sessions, lost and found, and connecting with friends; located on Lower Level in the MAC Gym.
  • Event Social: Dress is casual. Hors d’oeuvres provided. Transportation from the Coliseum to the Bank Vault runs from 7:15-9:30 p.m., with the last run back to the Coliseum at 9:30 p.m. Parking downtown is limited. After 9:30 p.m. attendees will be responsible for their own transportation. Please bring your badge and driver’s license to the social.
  • Dress Code for Conference: Workout attire. Bring a jacket for between sessions. Locker rooms will be available.
  • CEU Certificates will be issued at registration. 
  • Pre-con CEU Certificates will be distributed at the pre-con classes.
  • Swag Bag: Everyone must sign a liability waiver at registration to receive a swag bag. 

For Presenters

  • Lectures: Held in Lecture Room A or B. Personal laptop not required, internet access available. Bring presentation on a jump drive.
  • Activity Sessions: If you are using a PowerPoint or Prezi, please bring your laptop and an adaptor (Apple or Lenovo).
  • Handouts: Please bring your own handouts for your class. Printing is not available.
  • Friday Registration: Opportunity to test laptop with AV system. If you check-in on Saturday, we cannot run a test. Preview of your space is also available on Friday.
  • Session Times: Strictly limited to 55 minutes. Room monitors will alert you at the five-minute warning time and will stop you at the 55-minute mark. Please be respectful of fellow presenters. 

For Master Trainers

  • Master Classes: will be Saturday, March 14th at 8:15am, immediately following the Welcome Ceremony.
  • Student Hosts: will greet you at 7:30am to assist with setup.
  • U-Jam Fitness Master Class: On Courts 1 & 2, 8:15am-9:15am. Max Capacity:125.
  • Schwinn Cycling Master Class: In Cycling Studio, 8:15am-9:15am. Max Capacity 20.
  • Cybex: The Forward Lunge: In Lecture Rooms, 8:15am-9:15am. Max Capacity 75.

Fit Expo Vendors

  • Set up for Fit Expo in MAC Gym, Saturday, March 14, from 10 to 10:30 a.m.
  • Expo opens at 11 a.m.
  • Table will be provided.
  • Please bring literature, promotional items, and other information you wish to distribute. 
  • Breakdown of Fit Expo is Saturday from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m.

Who Should Attend

The event is open to students, Campus Recreation professionals, and community fitness professionals in and around the southeast. The intent is to bring students, instructors, and professionals together for a unique training and networking opportunity.

Keynote Address and Workout with Martin Rooney of Training for Warriors

Martin Rooney is an internationally recognized pioneer of strength and conditioning for the martial arts. He holds a master of health science and a bachelor of physical therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina. He also holds a bachelor of arts in exercise science from Furman University.

Martin was a four-time All-Conference, and four-time MVP performer in track and field at Furman and a member of the U.S. Bobsled team (1995-1997, 2000). 

Following his exposure to MMA in the mid 1990s, Martin began training with Renzo Gracie and started training fighters shortly afterward. Since the foundation of the Training for Warriors (TFW) system, Martin has traveled around the world to train, compete, and conduct seminars and help prepare world-class athletes for competition.

Martin has been featured on ESPN, ESPN2, Spike TV, Sports New York, Fox Sports Net, Fox Fight Game, the NFL Network, HDnet, NBC.com, Bodybuilding.com, tmuscle.com and in the New York Times, Men’s Health, Men’s Fitness, Men’s Journal, The Sporting News, Stack Magazine, FIGHT!, Fight Sport, Fighters Only, Grappling, and Sports Illustrated for Kids.
