Operations Supervisor

Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Utilize Fusion software to monitor facility access, check out equipment, make reservations, complete sales of merchandise, and receive communications about scheduled events and tasks
  • Provide logistical support to program areas via equipment setup, break down, and cleaning  processes
  • Follow established open/close procedures to ensure the security and safety of the facility, documenting any irregularities
  • Provide task support to Facility Attendant staff assigned to Equipment Desk, Lower Level, Golf Simulator, Group Fitness Studios, and meeting room work zones
  • Provide logistical support for informal and formal recreation via equipment setup and break down processes to Golf Simulator, racquetball courts, multi-sport and outdoor courts, and meeting rooms
  • Inventory and catalog equipment and first aid supplies
  • Perform specialized cleaning and maintenance task of program areas and equipment
  • Ensure that all towels and other laundry are washed, dried and folded for member use
  • Inspect bathrooms for cleanliness and maintenance issues, reporting issues to appropriate staff
  • Ensure that areas reserved for department programming are ready according to programmers’ requests
  • Set up rooms for classes, meetings and events according to reservation specifications, including A/V and other equipment
  • Confirm cleanliness of areas cleaned by Facility Attendants
  • Attend weekly supervisor meetings to discuss prevalent issues, changes and brainstorm ways to
     enhance the member experience
  • Relay information about staffing, events, and tasks throughout the staff using the facility and maintenance reports
  • Knowledgeable about sport netting equipment and set-up/tear-down process

General Schedule

This position will be scheduled to work 3-4 hour shifts Monday – Thursday 5:00am – 12:30am, Fridays 5:00am – 9:30 pm, Saturdays 9:30am – 9:30pm, and Sundays 11:30am – 10:30pm.  This position is available Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters with hours available during semester and holiday breaks.  A minimum of 10 hours per week is required, with a maximum of 15 hours.

Job Requirements

  • Must have worked in Facility Attendant role at the Auburn Recreation and Wellness Center for at least one semester, demonstrating consistent quality performance
  • Currently enrolled student of Auburn University
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Must obtain and maintain a current CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
  • Complete Securing the Human training within one week of email notification (annually).
  • Possess some customer service experience

Physical Requirements

  • Position requires working indoors (95%) and outdoors (5%)
  • Be able to lift and move up to 45 pounds
  • Operate vacuums and other cleaning equipment
  • Previous Recreation experience
  • Strong experience in customer service
