Facility Supervisor

Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Supervise staff and events at the Recreation and Wellness Center to ensure efficient operations
  • Communicate updates to staffing, policies, and tasks to subordinates as well as communicating supply and maintenance needs to professional staff
  • Assist Campus Recreation program areas and professional staff with various tasks on an as needed basis
  • Employ strong decision-making and conflict resolution skills with members when policies and/or procedures are violated, including all ID violations, hostile members, and facility ejections
  • Report injuries, incidents, member concerns and feedback via Qualtrix forms
  • Check and report staff attendance and evaluate tasks completed by subordinates for completion and quality, communicating to supervisors via Qualtrix
  • Follow established open/close procedures to ensure the security and safety, and staffing of the facility, documenting any irregularities
  • Coordinate emergency and evacuation procedures that include care for injured, initiation of emergency action plan, notification of appropriate university and community authorities, and completion of paperwork
  • Communicate and consistently enforce all facility and departmental policies, rules and regulations to minimize and eliminate hazardous situations
  • Utilize Fusion software to monitor facility access, check out equipment, make reservations, complete sales of merchandise, and receive communications about scheduled events and tasks
  • Conduct on the job and lecture style training for Facility Attendants
  • Follow Blood Bourne Pathogen procedures to perform bodily fluid clean-ups
  • Acts an ambassador for Campus Recreation both at work and away
  • Utilize When to Work to communicate work availability to supervisors and co-workers.
  • Effectively use time-management skills for all shifts and essential functions
  • Arrive promptly for shifts, dressed in provided uniforms, presenting a professional appearance and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Attend weekly supervisor meetings to discuss prevalent issues, changes and brainstorm ways to  enhance the member experience
  • Follow procedures set forth in the employee handbook, as well as all departmental and university policies

General Schedule

This position will be scheduled to work 3-4 hour shifts Monday – Thursday 5:00am – 12:30am, Fridays 5:00am – 9:30 pm, Saturdays 9:30am – 9:30pm, and Sundays 11:30am – 10:30pm.  This position is available Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters with hours available during semester and holiday breaks.  A minimum of 10 hours per week is required, with a maximum of 15 hours. 

Job Requirements

  • Must have worked in Facility Attendant role at the Auburn Recreation and Wellness Center for at least one semester, demonstrating consistent quality performance
  • Currently enrolled student of Auburn University
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Must obtain and maintain a current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
  • Complete Securing the Human training within one week of email notification (annually)
  • Possess some customer service experience 

Physical Requirements

  • Position requires working indoors (95%) and outdoors (5%)
  • Be able to lift and move up to 45 pounds
  • Operate vacuums and other cleaning equipment
  • Previous recreation experience
  • Strong experience in customer service

Location Facilities 
Compensation $9.50 - $11.00
