Programs and Facilities During COVID-19

Due to the special circumstances of COVID-19, we have created this page for members to get up-to-the-minute information about Campus Recreation's programs and services. Please bookmark the page, and refer to it for the most accurate information available throughout the semester.

Available Programs and Services

AUBURN OUTDOORS

  • Rental Center - Monday-Friday: 12 - 6 p.m.
  • Bike Shop - Monday-Friday: 12 - 6 p.m.
  • Climbing Wall - Wednesday & Thursday: 5 - 7 p.m. Reserve your spot here
  • Local Outdoor Adventure Trips - TBD
  • Outdoor Adventure Workshops - Virtual Only

COMPETITIVE SPORTS

Club Sports

  • Team practices may include inter-squad scrimmages, but face coverings must be worn
  • Recommend players take five-minute, physically distanced breaks every 30 minutes (sooner if needed) with a face covering on

Intramural Sports

  • Registration for intramural softball, kickball, and volleyball opens on March 2. 
  • Leagues begin March 22 and end April 11
  • Playoffs begin April 15 (special rules and guidelines in place)
  • Single/doubles tennis tournament - TBD

GROUP FITNESS

  • 70+ on-site classes per week
  • 5 hybrid classes per week (in-person and simultaneously live-streamed)

  • Badminton - 3 courts available (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) with face coverings

INDOOR TRACK

  • Please observe physical distancing and all posted signage when using the track.


POOL/HOT TUB

  • Pool - Open
  • Monday-Friday 11 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturday, noon - 4 p.m., and Sunday, noon - 6 p.m.
  • Hot Tub - Closed


INTRAMURAL FIELDS

  • Open for informal recreation/free play, based on weather and maintenance schedule


SPORTSPLEX

  • Open

  • Fields and Trail - Sunday-Thursday, 3 - 9 p.m.

Member Guidelines

  • Recreation and Wellness Center members voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and the observance of university guidelines while participating in high-intensity exercise.

  • Face coverings should be worn while entering, exiting, and moving about common areas of the facility. Limited oxygen during physical activity increases heart rate, perceived exhaustion, and should be considered by all members. We do not recommend high-intensity exercise while wearing a face covering. Some research indicates that wearing a face covering may be unsafe for those who suffer from cardiovascular disease, COPD, trouble breathing, or any other type of heart or lung disease. 
  • Hand washing is one of the best ways to stop the spread. Wash for at least 20 seconds.
  • Social distancing is key to keeping everyone healthy and safe. Please remain 6 feet apart. 

  • Taking the elevator? If possible, take the stairs. Only two people per elevator trip, please. Use of a face covering is required. Practice physical distancing.

  • Taking the stairs? Maintain at least 6 feet distance. 8 stairs is approximately 6 feet. Use of a face covering is required.

  • Do not remove or relocate orange cones. Cones indicate machines or areas that need to be sanitized. Our team will sanitize machines with cones on a scheduled rotation throughout the day.
