Aquatics Policies and Guidelines

General Rules

  • Admission to the pool shall be limited to students and members in good standing.

  • Please refrain from Public Displays of Affection in the pool area. 

  • Admission to the pool shall be refused to all persons having any contagious disease or infectious condition.

  • No dogs or other pets shall be permitted in the pool area.

  • No alcohol beverages permitted at the pool.

  • The pool may be closed for maintenance, health conditions, weather, or any other reason deemed necessary by the Head Guard.

  • Only swimming apparel shall be allowed. Cut-offs shall not be acceptable swimming apparel.

  • Food, drink, gum and tobacco shall be allowed only in designated areas.

  • Personal conduct in and around the pool shall be such that the safety of the individual and others are not jeopardized.

  • Trash receptacles shall be provided and used by everyone.

  • Damage to pool property, including trees, shrubbery, furniture, ect., shall not be permitted and anyone responsible for such shall be held responsible.

  • No child shall be permitted in the deep-water section of the pool unless he/she can demonstrate his/hers ability upon request to swim one length of the pool, in good form, and tread water for no less than 60 seconds.

  • Air mattresses, swim fins, floats, and other accessories shall be allowed in shallow water sections only and be subject to the lifeguard's discretion. The item shall not interfere with any other swimmer's use of the facility.

  • No flotation devices shall be allowed in the deep end.

  • No glass item shall be permitted in the pool area.

  • Diving shall not be permitted in water less than 12 feet of depth.

  • Swimming shall not be permitted in the diving are unless the lifeguard has closed the entire area to diving.

  • Running and rough play shall not be permitted.

  • Piggyback games such as "chicken fighting" shall not be permitted.

  • Flips and backwards jumping off the poolside shall not be permitted.

Diving Board Rules

  • One person at a time.

  • One jump. No double bouncing.

  • Diving shall only be permitted from the end of the diving board, not from the sides of the board.

  • The diving area shall be cleared and checked before diving.

  • After diving, the swimmer shall immediately proceed to the side of the pool nearest the diving board and exit the pool.

  • No flotation devices permitted on diving boards.

  • Non-swimmers shall not be permitted to dive or to swim in the diving section.
